FOOD!!!!

Hey y’all, so yesterday my family and I went out to eat. We ate at this place called Banh Mi Boys. For those of you who don’t know, it’s literally 2 minutes from school. It right next to that. Gas station on airline/ the end of transcontinental. I need you guys to try this place out. ITS SO GOOD. Anyways, I bring this up because my family and I are always looking for new places to try, so I wanted to ask you guys. Please, tell me your favorite restaurants, what dishes are the best, and what makes you love it so much. If I try it out, I’ll take pics and maybe even blog it on here!!!

 Luv y’all

Hi, Adriana,

I absolutely love this post idea! This is such a hard to decision, especially in this city. But, if I had to pick, it would definitely be Italian. Vincent’s, either Uptown or in Metairie, is without a doubt the best Italian restaurant in the city, and I will fight you if you disagree. Their cannelloni is amazing, and so is their paneed veal over fettuccini alfredo. Now, while nothing can close to my grandmother’s food, whose name was Floresteina Anna Maria Signorino (yes, that Italian), Vincent’s food comes pretty close. Hope this helps next time your family is looking for some great Italian food.

Oh my God!!!! Vincents is one of my favorite places in the city when it comes to Italian. The fettuccini alfredo is definitely my favorite dish (as suggested by Hunter) but I honestly go there for their limoncello ice cream which is beyond amazing. I recommend to anyone who enjoys lemon flavor or just ice cream, in general, it is so good. It is creamy, sweet, and tart all at the same time. Another restaurant I would suggest for dessert (as it is all I care about) would be Brennans which is a must-try spot in the city for banana faster. I don't go as often as I should but it is up there when it comes to top food places.

A place that I absolutely love is Jacques-imo's. I think that the food there is really good, but you have to have a lot of time to enjoy it, in my opinion. My dad and I went there to check it out about two years ago. They have paintings that completely cover the walls and the ceiling. It's a really cool place. When we went there, we got the eggplant pirogue. We spent about two hours there, just talking and eating. It's really an amazing experience.

oh my goodness. i think this, without a doubt, is the best blog post i've seen yet. I'm really, really, reallyyy into food so this is so exciting. One of my best friends Jordan (she lives in Boston), got me obsessed with the idea of trying to find the trendiest, yet most delicious restaurants in any city. Our moms hate us for it, but it does make a trip extra special. Anyways, I like to think I act similarly in our own city, trying to find restaurants that are both pretty to look at and delicious to eat. I love Willa Jeans. It's downtown and I swear they have the most amazing sweets. I would definitely recommend their monkey bread on a Saturday morning or their warm chocolate chip cookies for any occasion. Sake on Magazine has some of the best sushi. I've been going there since I was really little. Venezia's has to be my favorite restaurant in the city. It may not have the most beautiful exterior, but it does have amazing Italian food. My dad used to take me there every Friday when I was in elementary school. It's a really special place for me. They also just happen to have the best mozzarella sticks i've ever had. ohhh, get the chicken parm too! Honorable mentions go to shaya's, la boulangerie, el gato negro, auction house etc. I also just tried out this place called Val's on Freret. It had really great Mexican food and I swear every person that walked in looked like they were off the streets of NYC. I don't know how much that appeals to you, but the outfits alone made me want to eat their weekly. Pretty sure that's just something I would notice though haha. Anyway, I really hope this helped and thanks to you, I will be trying a new restaurant so soon!

I love this! I can't wait to feel like a tourist in my own city! My contribution will be Chinese food. My family and I love this one restaurant, and we've been going there for years. It's called Royal China and it's run by Ms. Shirley. It's on Veterans right next to an Italian restaurant called Fausto's (which is also really good, and it seems we have an Italian group here). I really love the har gow (wrapped shrimp), wonton soup, paper shrimp, garlic ribs, bok choy, sticky rice, and beef chow fun. It's really great, and I highly recommend it! There's even little (big) fishies in a tank when you walk in. And for dessert, there's mini beignets! I hope y'all decide to go and enjoy!

I know everyone has said this already, but this is just the coolest idea! So, I live in New Orleans and I usually stay in the area whenever my family or I go out to eat. I know most of you guys don't live by me, but this place is just the coolest and has AMAZING food. So, if you can I really suggest you check it out. It is called Suis Generis, and I know, with that name you're probably thinking like, "I just know that place expensive as hell!!!" Trust me, it's not! It is super lowkey and has the best interior decor EVER. Their menu is very European and contains ALL farm-to-table items, as well as vegan/vegetarian options. I usually go during their Brunch time because of their GODLY breakfast burrito (it's only like 13 dollars too). It comes with a decent-sized burrito, with some crazy good salsa verde! It is seriously the best food I have ever had in my life. Also, the employees there are just the sweetest. Eating in the dining area is seriously an experience! I just love it!
That's all I really wanted to say and hope you check it out sometime!!

I would recommend Conola! It has a very diverse menu, they have typical American food, some southern comfort food, but they also have an extensive sushi bar. It's a good place to go if you have a group of people with different tastes.
A very good pizza place is The Midway on Freret. They have very interesting choices, and a lot of them. It isn't just cheese, pepperoni and sausage. I went there the other night and got a pizza with prosciutto, mozzarella slices, caramelized onions, tomato relish, and balsamic vinegar as the sauce. It probably isn't something I'd get again, to be honest, since the balsamic was overwhelming, but I'm glad I tried it because it wasn't bad, and it was different from what I normally get. Shogun is another, because it's a LOT of food, and it's good quality. The show is always fun, too.

Okay, I think y'all probably saw this one coming, but RED ROBIN is my absolute FAVOURITE restaurant ever, probably because of all the good memories that I associate with it. It has the most juicy burgers, bottomless fries, and bottomless SHAKES!! The shakes are very over-the-top, which I love! They actually give you part of the shake with whipped cream and whichever other toppings it comes with in a glass and then a whole extra CUP of ice cream! My favourite thing to get at Red Robin is the guacamole bacon burger, probably because I don't eat red meat very often and it's just so delicious! I also usually get the onion rings as an appetizer, and my favourite shake is the Silver Spoon S'mores shake. Unfortunately, Red Robin does not have any locations in New Orleans, but there are Red Robins in Slidell, Baton Rouge (right by the Mall of Louisiana), and Lafayette! I'm getting really sentimental because I would always go to Red Robin after my All-State audition, which would've been this weekend :( Anyway, I think y'all would LOVE the experience. (Also, they have the most festive red balloons that you can take home!) And if you're ever in Baton Rouge, you should also check out Insomnia Cookies, which I absolutely love. Their salted caramel cookie is my favourite cookie EVER!
