Why does it seem that infants and young children, whom you would expect to have very low and undeveloped immune systems, are not at risk of major health effects/death from contracting the virus?

Though cases are not as severe in most children, infants are actually at a higher risk than other children with roughly 11% developing severe/critical symptoms.
