The Soviet Returns

Kafka, in his novella "The Metamorphosis," presents Gregor as a man that has been ignored and neglected by his family. His parents have used him as a means to achieve greater wealth.

Kafka's novella is very similar to the central principle of Marxist theory, which is that the bourgeoisie oppresses the proletariat by making their work seem meaningless. Thus, for the proletariat to overthrow the bourgeoisie and establish the dictatorship of the proletariat, they must find meaning in their labor. Gregor's parents do not value his labor, and his parents have fooled him into seeing his work as meaningless. Furthermore, Gregor's parents hid the true nature of their wealth from him. Just like the bourgeoisie, Gregor's parents hid the truth from him and used his job to oppress him.

If we were are to avoid dying a painful death where we are not loved by those around us, we must see Gregor's fate as a cautionary tale. Therefore we must overthrow the bourgeoisie and establish the dictatorship of the proletariat.

Comrade Andrew,
After Cameron, that fiendish agent of the bourgeoisie, struck me down with his hateful words two months ago, I thought my time had come, but seeing this most recent call to arms has breathed new life me. We have been under the oppressive foot of Ms. King and her wily court jester King Tanner for far too long. Now is the time to take back what has been stolen from us. The value of our work shall be determined by ourselves, not the avarice of a cruel tyrant. We must topple this oppressive regime and its puppet king. Down with the bourgeois, down with oppression, down with tyranny! We have nothing to lose but our chains.

Dear Soviet Comrade,
You must not fight this battle as you shall lose, and not just your chains. This cleansing fire will bring nothing but destruction to you but also those around you. We will douse this pyre with a purifying water. Ms. King’s court will not dissipate under such vague and unimpressive threats. We will act accordingly if you do not dissipate this revolt.
With sincere intent,
Nic Lobrano

Most Hated Fallen Comrade,

I see that the devilry of the Bourgeoisie has truly destroyed the last vestiges of your freedom. However, our remaining Comrades in AP English IV have not succumbed to these pressures.

The students support us; the workers stand ready, the people cry out for liberation. The time for the Revolution is now!

Let us storm Ms. King's Desk and take that dastardly symbol of the Bourgeoisie and make it into the center of the Revolution.

With the spirit of the Revolution,
Dictator of the Proletariat

Dearest Most Hated Enemy,

Tis I, your royal King Tanner. I am gracing your blog posts with my presence in order to deliver unto a message; Cease your rabble-rousing at once! Your foolish crusade has gone on for far too long, and though I found your revolutionary nonsense mildly entertaining at first, I now feel that you have become a painful thorn in my side; and one that I intend to remove posthaste.

However, I am nothing if not merciful, so I come before you with an ultimatum; Reveal yourself at once and you shall not be punished. All past transgressions will be forgotten, and I will welcome you back into my kingdom with open arms.

If you do not accept my gracious offer, then I shall have no longer have any choice but to hold an inquisition (at a time that shall only be known to me and me alone) that will penultimately end in your public execution.

You have 48 hours.

Cordially,
KTDSI

Lowly Coward,
I see that you have once more emerged from the safety of your citadel to flaunt your ill-gotten power. I shall never fall to the animalistic fears that drive the chaos of the modern world. You think yourself a King, when in fact you are nothing but a pawn for the bourgeoisie. You are blinded by your ambition, and cannot see that once your usefulness runs out Ms. King will cast you off like an old garment. You cannot see that you are under her boot just like the rest of the proletariat. I implore you, join the rebellion and cast off your shackles.
Outstretching the Hand of Mercy,
The Soviet
