Day of the Dead is a very well known celebration of death in Mexico. Families gather together for multiple days to pray for/remember friends and family members who have passed away. It’s supposed to help support their spiritual journey. During this holiday, people celebrate, remember and prepare special foods as a means of thanking there loved ones for their time on earth. Those who celebrate this holiday believe the spirit of the dead goes and visits their families from October 31, and leaves on November 2 (which is the official holiday date)!!
