The End

So, as the end of our senior year draws near, we have talked a lot about the big plans of the future, namely college. What we have not talked about much of that long period of time called summer that lies between the end of high school and the beginning of college. I plan on visiting family and possibly doing an online internship. Do y’all have any plans, or are you just leaving it all open because of college and COVID?

Hey Renee,
Where are you interning?

In June, my grandparents and I will be going to the Grand Canyon, and my grandpa and I will actually be sky diving. Crazy to think, right?

In July, my family and I are thinking about moving to Mexico for the month. We’re still trying to make the plans for that.

Hey, Renee,

Over the summer, I'm going back to work at the Society of Louisiana CPAs. This is my fourth year with them, so I'm really excited. I work a lot with Excel and database management, as well as tech support and data automation. I'm really hoping that we can bo to in-person conferences this year, since COVID killed them all last year. Plus, I have orientation to look forward to as well.

Hey Renee. I don't know many specific plans for summer yet, but so far, I plan on going on a trip the day after graduation with the Porters and Greenes. It'll be our first trip by ourselves for me and the Porters (I don't know about the Greenes, since Leven has driven to Florida by herself before). We're going to stay for a few days in the beach house that Mrs. Greene rents. I'm looking forward to it since Leven, Mya and I are all going far enough away from each other that we can't visit often, so it'll be nice to have a final little outing before we all leave. Of course we'll try to stay in contact, but it obviously won't be the same as seeing them at school all the time.
I also plan on going to my summer camp, assuming it's proceeding as normal. I couldn't go last year because of COVID, and that was the first year I've ever missed, and I started going when I was 6. Other than those two things, I don't know what else I'll do, but I'll probably end up going to Texas at some point. I'll want to see my grandparents and my friend Rhylan before I go to Sewanee.

Hey Renee. In summer, I will be going with my family and neighbor's fam to California! We are also stopping at New Mexico, Nevada, and Arizona as a road trip! I am also going to Puerto Rico. I haven't seen my family there in so long, and I can't wait to reconnect with them. Most of them and almost all of us have been vaccinated, so we want to see them. In August, I am going to Samford's orientation, and then start the school year!

What internship are you doing? And are you excited about Alabama?

So, @Adriana, I would be interning at The Historic New Orleans Collection, and I would set up a virtual field trip, so it sounds interesting! I hope you and your grandfather enjoy the skydiving! You will have to update us on that because it is on my bucket list. Also, I hope that I can do crazy things like skydiving when I am your grandfather's age.
@Hunter, only you could enjoy doing office work all summer. I will leave it at that.
@Laura, the beach trip sounds fun! I really want to do something like go on a day trip to a water park (COVID permitting) with my friends this summer, but who knows what the summer will look like!
@Cami, good luck with that road trip! I have taken the road trip to El Paso (my mom's best friend lives there) and the driving is brutal. I am super excited about Alabama, and every day I find out something more that makes me exited.
