Ms. King is the best English teacher hands down
Ok...wow. Senior leadership day has come and gone and I just want to say that I have a new found appreciation for our teachers. I shadowed Ms. King and I just want to say that this woman does SO much in one day for all her students that it’s insane. I’ve always known that she works hard for all her sections but let me just say, I taught for one day and I collapsed the second I walked through my front door. So let’s have a round of applause for our teacher who not only teaches our AP class but 3 rambunctious sections of junior English.

I completely agree. I left the day feeling exhausted! I shadowed Mrs. Dalfares, and I never thought meetings and babies could tire me out more than an average day of school. Not only did this give me a new level of respect for the faculty, but it also gave me a new perspective and understanding of St. Martin’s.
I agree. I knew in the abstract that Dr. Sorrels had a difficult job but I have gained a new understanding of what goes on. Her day started at 6:45 AM when a Board Member was her questions and it didn't end till 6 pm. I only experienced a small part of everything she does and it was a ridiculous amount of work. Just to run two meetings I had to so much prep and the meetings themselves were also very intense. I know have better appreciation for what the faculty and staff of St. Martins have to deal with on a daily basis.
I agree as well! I worked with Mr. Fletcher in the admissions office. I never realized the amount of strategy and preparation that came with enrolling new students at St. Martin’s. I was also given the chance to meet staff members at St. Martin’s that I never would have run into at school on a normal day. I was able to learn and take part in the management part of the office and this helped me develop a deeper appreciation for all the faculty at our school, even those behind the scenes. My favorite part of the day was definitely the leadership meeting, where us students were able to voice our own opinions on positive things about St. Martins, as well as voice solutions on how to solve some problems we face. Being given that opportunity to work so closely with the teachers and administrators of our school was a truly inspirational experience. I definitely crashed on the couch when I got home and took a big nap.
This is definitely true. I shadowed Mr. AC, and it was quite an intense day. I had already spent days both preparing and learning material for the classes I was to teach, including a regular and honors class. On the day itself, I taught 4 total classes, one of them being a long period. It was very difficult to teach, as I had to stay on topic while also attempting to maintain interest from the students. I also had to make sure students behaved properly and did not act up. Mr. AC even showed me how to create and grade assignments, which seems like a whole other obstacle. Through this experience, I learned that teachers have a lot to go through, and it made me a lot more appreciative of their efforts.
I also agree, I taught 9th grade english for Mr. Munhall and I didn't really come across any issues but wouldn't want to do that every day. I didn't find myself falling short in dialogue or instruction, and since I gave the students an activity I made sure that they all participated. I found that all of them were generally pretty attentive and interested. It was decently easy though since I only had to cover one short story, I imagine it could've gone worse. I could see how with a more difficult class I would've had a much harder time, but the 9th graders I taught were pretty easygoing.
I concur. I taught 10th grade English for Mr. Van Young. I did not realize how tiring it is to be a teacher. You have to talk so much and be able to handle all the differing dynamics in each class. The 10th grade honors class was pretty fun and easy. The other class however, was a bit more hard to control. Overall it was a great time
I officially declare, as King of The Blog, Megan King to be the best English teacher.
