Adaptations of Things Fall Apart

Over the years there have been many film and television adaptations of Achebe's novel.

The first adaptation came in 1961. A radio drama called "Okonkwo" was made that mirrored many aspects of the novel. It was broadcasted throughout Nigeria by the Nigerian Broadcasting Corporation.

The novel was later transformed into a movie in 1971 starring Elizabeth of Toro. The movie currently has a 7.9/10 rating on IMDb.

In 1999, the hip-hop band The Roots released an album titled Things Fall Apart as a tribute to the novel.

In 2011, 50 Cent starred in a movie titled All Things Fall Apart. The movie has no real connection to Achebe's novel, but there was controversy over their titles. 50 Cent offered Achebe 1 million dollars to keep the title of the movie, but Achebe took this as an insult.
