Rosenstern

This is an interesting take on the two, but I feel like all of society is like Rosenstern in a sense. Are we anything but society's reflections of what we are. We are nothing but what others choose us to be at the time when the "author" creates us. When we are born, we are instantly morphed into what society expects us. Even as we choose to "rebel" against society and be our own person, we are trained to do that. Society at this point expects you to rebel - if you can even call it that. We are all Rosenstern, we are all dead, god is dead. You are expected to rebel against this post. Keep scrolling sheeple.

This is true, except maybe the sheeple thing (I Rebelled!). Their creator, Shakespeare, made them to be just what they are, side characters whose only purpose is to die for the sake of GLORIOUS EXPOSITION! There is something about the rebelling bit though, as Ros and Guil don't really seem to be into it. After all, why rebel when what you are doing could be part of some set plot anyway? No, it is best to simply sit back, relax, grab a cola if you want, and just let it all happen. You don't have to be passive if you don't want to be, but all your decisions lead to one outcome anyway so why bother? (P.S. I think this is worse than being a race of sheeple).

But I mean, are we really rebelling if we were written to rebel? Aren't we just going with what our authors command or expect us to? By rebelling we are complying. I know, I know, paradox man. But then, aren't we society? Like, how can you say that we rebel against society because we make up society. We influence it. Then again, rebelling against society is our way to influence it. #NICKIMINAJ says all of this all the time, just saying. But really, I know you guys who read my stuff are annoyed by all my Nicki (Miss King, don't deny it) but she is all about showing how even though society says this and that, there are people who don't believe in society's norms. She declares that most of these voices are kept within and not heard. #TeamNicki #NickiAllDay #NickiKnows #MinajianPhilosophy

I think what y'all have to say is really interesting and true! I think this whole idea that we are created but truly shaped by society. Since society shapes us into who we are, we naturally feel we must rebel. Rebellion allows for one to break the barriers of conformity and provides a person with a sense of individuality. Since we are created and feel that we are constantly molded into being what others want, people find that "rebelling" is the only escape towards becoming the person he/she truly feels they are. I think it's interesting to think about the idea of how do we even exactly know who we are as a person if everyone and everything influences us. I think that Ros and Guil are people who are made out to what they are because they feel perhaps that they have no way of defining themselves because they have no control over how they were created.
