Macondo is a movie

Many new things arrive in Macondo and one of them is the cinema. People enjoy films until they are enraged to realize that actors who have died in one film reappear alive in another. The projector is called "a machine of illusions." The aggravation felt by the inhabitants is ironic because Macondo is just like those movies. Time, events, and characters are repetitious and cyclical, especially for the Buendías. A bunch of people die, but it seems as if certain people reappear like the actors in the films. Numerous Aurelianos and Arcadios return to repeat what their previous generations had done. Also, magical realism adds to the feeling that Macondo itself is a long, complex, illusive, magical, and sad movie.
