Hell: A Cash Cow

In a time before our own, hell was taboo; hell was the place no one spoke of and no one dare imagined. Today, hell is a common theme in the entertainment world. Hell is become a popular setting for most entertainments products. For movies, games, books, etc; everyone wants to read about hell. Theres a blockbuster video game, doom, that has made millions from allowing players to shoot demons in hell. Countless movies have been made around demons in hell, demons from hell coming to the world, the devil, the devil in an elevator, etc. Along with shows; theres a new hit show called Lucifer that paints the devil as some suave comedic business man. Why such use of hell? Its because of the time we live in. We live in a pretty unrestrictive time, and today way try to embrace the exploration of taboo. I think hell has just become this over done exploration of taboo that its more of an attention getter. Now thats not saying that all films based around hell a bad, but hell has become a subdivision of the horror genre, and there are so many stories surrounding hell that its simply become over done.
