A gyro, a beautiful handcrafted piece of lamb, hummus, greens, and olive oil wrapped in a plush pita has met it’s match. The taco, A handheld piece of heaven, hard or soft, has many different configurations and never fails to satify. Which is the better wrap? I’m here to give an extensive unbiased review on each iconic dish
The gyro, dating back to the Ottoman Empire, has become a Mediterranean staple. Originating in the city of Bursa, where cooks wool grill large slices of meat and place them in pita, have becaome a worldwide hit. Popular in Athens and also in New York City, the gyro is famous for being a cheap and efficient way of saifaying an empty stomach, The gyro can take a few different forms. In terms of meat, the gyro can contain: chicken, pork, lamb, beef, or even veal. Originally, the Greeks would only use chicken or pork; the introduction of lamb came from the Turks. Along with meat, the gyro contagion an assortion of vegetables dosed in olive oil, and topped with your choice of hummus or tazaki. Personally, I prefer a nice lump of hummus on my meal. The gyro has met its match, the Mexican taco.
The taco predates the arrival of the spanish in Mexico. There is no exact time when tacos appeared, they just appeared, sort of like dinosaurs, minus the Android part. Tacos are the customizable Nike shoes of the culinary world. You can put anything in a soft or hard shell and it will still taste like pure perfection; just like any other dish, you must prepare each taco with care and focus. In order to achieve the perfect taco, you must pick your poison: hard shell or soft shell. A hard shell adds the additional crunch that makes your taco indulgence that much more memorable; in the other hand, yeh soft shell maintains the delicious juices and flavor in a smooth in plush manor. After choosing a shell, you are tasked with choosing a base I.e. the protein of the meal. After choosing the protein, the rest is up to the imagination. Tacos have proven themselves to be a world wide hit; tacos can be a late night snack or a 5 star meal fit for a king.
Now for the conclusion, who will be crowned victor. The gyro, a plush Mediterranean staple that AHS maintained its delicious flavor and history for centuries, or the taco, a dish that can be served any way imaginable. Ladies and Gentlemen, I give the crown to... the taco. Though gyros are a fantastic meal, the amount of personalization and creativity that can go into a taco makes it the perfect meal.
