the Padma dilemma

I looked it up y'all. Salman Rushdie and Padma Lakshmi filed a divorce for 2007, but Midnight's Children was written in 1981. The two didn't even meet until 1999, so obviously there is no direct correlation. Padma is just a really common Indian name.

Either that or Rushdie fell in love with his own character and did what Amina did by shaping his wife to another character he loved. In fact, when he was big in India, Rushdie was a very eligible and sought after man. My mom told me that she knew of him and loved all his work, since she was around 18 too when she first read him.

I think it is really interesting that a writer would be considered a "bachlor". In these days it seems like movie stars and singers are the most sought after "bachlelors"

Writers can be bachelors and ad Ravin said, can be highly sought After. When mrs Quinet showed us the picture, I didn't find him attractive. But just by reading his work I saw that he was far to brilliant to be judged on appearance.

I am still so amazed that she fell in love with him, and i also find it interesting that her name is the exact same as the female character in his book.
