Ahhh! It's my last post!

So I remember back in August, when we were still in the Coatney(sp?) Leadership Center and Ms. King told us to start blogging. When I first got on blogger, I saw Collin Stedman's post. http://stmhumanities.blogspot.com/2011/04/closing-up-shop.html
I think Ms. King and Mrs. Quinet do this on purpose so our year comes full circle. We start with two relatively contemporary texts and return to Midnight's Children which openly draws from Tin Drum. I wonder if years from now if I'll ever find myself back on this blog and the Humanities students are posting similar things as they read the same literature we did. Pretty cool! And kind of mind-blowing!

I have thought the same thing before!! I am definitely keeping the bookmark on my tabs so maybe I'll drop in next year to see what the next class has to say.

I think it'd be very interesting to see how other kids, the same age as us, will understand the same novels that we read. I have a feeling that they will change very much from our analysis. Ms. King even comes to new and different points each year as the students come up with new ideas. Especiallly with a book as dense and filled as Midnight's Children, people often pull out different lines they think are important than someone else.

It's funny that it is like a full circle of our reading. The tin drum relates so closely to Midnight's children. I also agree that blogging is interesting in helping us learn because we can review certain things about what we learned in our previous texts and relate them to the current texts we are reading.
