All the Bright Places. WARNING: Popcorn is crucial for this movie! This movie is incredibly slow and is honestly not one of the best movies I have watched, yet by the end I found myself crying my eyes out. If you like To All the Boys I Loved Before then I would give this movie a shot. It picks up around the middle but truly doesn’t get really good around the end when all the pieces add up. After finishing it I can say it was worth it and is one of theirs films I can rave about for hours.

Movie Suggestions !!
Hey guys!
So, if you don't already know, I am really into film and movies. Movies help me escape from current reality and transform me into theirs. I like all genres and types, from marvel movies (which are my current obsession) to satirical movies by Quentin Tarantino, Edgar Wright, and Wes Anderson to old thrillers by Alfred Hitchcock. So, I'm not really looking for any specific! If you like it, I'll watch it. Maybe I'll even do a little movie review... We'll see!
Thanks!
Quiz Bowl Guy Update! :)
Hey y'all!
On Friday I found out I got into UVA, which was super exciting (also it was such a relief since I'd only gotten in to one college before then). The Quiz Bowl guy I was telling y'all about also applied there, so I DM'd him that the UVA results had been released. He got in, too. We started talking and eventually he said, "Maybe I'll see you in Charlottesville in the fall" to which I responded "Yes that would be so fun :)" I wasn't expecting a response, but then he said "Very much so" and it was just the perfect little detail that made my entire weekend haha. Anyway, I'm hoping our Instagram conversations will lead somewhere, but we'll have to see. I'll be sure to keep y'all posted.
Love from

Here’s a creative writing piece I submitted to the Lyre:
Here’s a creative writing piece I submitted to the Lyre:
Mr. Methuselah came looking for me
The wind was howling
The house was creaking
And rain was dripping into my home
from a crack in the roof
Into a cup already full
As I peeked out through my curtains
Squinting through the dark gloom
Wanting to see him
He who promised he’d come
Mr. Methuselah would come looking for me
Saying sweet things I didn’t want to hear
And I would let him.
His presence
Dark, looming, something addicting
And there he was, making his way across the street to my home
Unbothered by the rain.
He rapped his knuckles against the wooden door
His wet, curly hair,
His black coat, blue tie, dark eyes
And I felt a surge inside of me
It made me rise to go answer the door
He looked down at me,
Leaning against the doorframe
His eyes black
Bearing down on me
Like I was his prey.
A smile crept across his face
And I smiled back
Taking one of his hands in my own
Tracing the back of it with my thumb
“Care to walk with me?” he asked.
“Why don’t you come inside instead? It’s pouring.”
He gave me a half smile
And led me out into the rain
It was cold
Wet
Uncomfortable.
He didn’t seem bothered
As if he was right where he should be.
Where are you taking me?
shivered through my brain
His large hands moved to my waist
Slipping under my shirt
His hand cold on my skin
Feeling the contours of my insecurity
Pulling me along.
I wasn’t going fast enough for him
So, watching him as we walked, I sped up
Not paying attention to what lay ahead
His eyes facing forward
His smile steady
Him numbing me to time…
Hours passed
Weeks passed
Walking
Through that rain
My eyes on him
His eyes on the road
His smile fading as time gently slipped through my fingers
The rain let up
Walking, walking,
My legs growing tired
To an open field.
The moon was red
Romantic
Dangerous.
The field was overgrown
But through the coiled vines and small yellow flowers
You could still see
Skeletons in fine dresses
Wearing pearls, intricate hairpins, jeweled necklaces,
Sparkling daintily.
Subtle but elegant.
They were bound to the ground
Stuck
Heads pulled back by tree roots
To stare at the sky
“Darling, come lay down with me.
Stare at the stars.”
I didn’t want to
The ground was wet
A dead girl was lying next to my foot,
Now mostly covered by ivy
Her eye socket stared up at me
Empty
Lacking
Ivory in the moonlight
I tried to turn, but he caught my wrist and stopped me.
I grabbed my hand to try to gain some leverage
To try to pull away
But also
Trying to not to be too in the way
Not be pushy
He pulled me to the ground
And we layed next to each other
Staring at the sky
The cold wet earth seeped through my shirt,
The dirt staining it.
I began to shiver
He turned to me and whispered,
His breath warm on my ear,
“You’re so beautiful.”
He put his arm around my waist, pulling me closer.
A small tear escaped as I felt the vines below curl up around me.
A tree root coming up to bind my head
So that I’d look at the sky
For the rest of my days
My hours
My minutes
The stars started seeming less and less bright
Mere pinpricks in the dark, ominous sky above.
It was barren… too far gone.
He kissed my cheek and sat up
His elbows resting on his knees
As he stared down at me
“Beautiful thing, isn’t it,” he said
“Yes. I suppose it is.”
SPOILER ALERT
🚨SPOILER ALERT🚨 for movie Wild Mountain Thyme.
I can’t believe this
I can’t believe this
I can’t believe this.
It’s an Irish romance movie about these next door neighbors (their farms are next door) who have known each other since they were children. The girl (played by Emily Blunt) has always been in love with the boy (Jamie Dornan). Sometimes they’ll act really close, but then he pushes her away. It’s hinted that there’s something mentally wrong with him throughout the movie, although it’s hinted more to be anxiety or depression.
Then we find out why he’s been pushing her away.
HE THINKS HE’S A BEE. A BEEE!!! AS IN BUZZ BUZZ 🐝 ?!?! WHAT?!?!
And then she asks “do you think I’m a bee?”
And he says “no I think you’re the most beautiful flower in the valley.”
Then they start talking about how he thinks he’s an INSECT and she says “well I think I’m a swan.” (Because of a metaphor used earlier in the film)
And he responds with, “You don’t LITERALLY think you’re a swan.”
.... so yeah. Felt like sharing.
Tiktok Idea
Hey, guys! So I have been seeing these videos while scrolling on Tiktok about making random pictures in our camera roll covers for albums. I thought it would be fun to try that with this class. So, I will be making a Tiktok of an album cover for each person. All y'all have to do is to submit a picture of you or something in your camera roll and I would make it into an album cover. I would post an example, but I don't know how to do that. I will try to post a link maybe in the comment section.
Tell me your thoughts on this video idea! :)
I Made A Tiktok
Hi everyone,
I already made 2 comments this week, but right now there is a tiktok trend where you talk about books or short stories you read in English class....so I made one about Metamorphosis.
