Rothko Painting in the Sky!

I was on the plane right after the sun had set and I looked out the window and thought it was beautiful. I decided to take a picture and after I looked at the picture, I was struck by the resemblance it held to a Rothko painting (minus the typical border thing).

That's a pretty sweet picture. It reminds me of Rothko as well as it has a similar effect of his paintings. It makes you wonder how that image was created and such.

That does look a lot like Rothko. At fist I wondered how his paintings could be considered art but now looking at that picture I kind of understand. It really helps when you compare it to something like this.

That is a beautiful photo Shaina! I've taken many pictures of the sky and they never come out like that. I honestly don't see the art in Rothko's work, because of the minimalism of them. I enjoy Pollock's work much more.

This is totally Rothko. It reminds me of his piece Green and Maroon by the separation that the line creates. Ps: great picture shaina!
