This image is of Sethe and Paul D. You can see Sethe's scars and the tree pattern they make.
This image is of Beloved coming into Paul D's room at night. The red light shines behind her and she is slightly lifting her dress as he looks worried and scared.
Here is an image of Sethe and the ghost in the white dress.
This is an illustration of Sethe being strangled; I think it's interesting we don't see the face of the person strangling her because the characters themselves debate over it being Beloved or Baby Suggs.

I will not include any spoilers here, but I can't help but admit that some of the images Natalia included here remind me vividly of cinematic footage in Jordan Peele's new movie, Us. Although unrealistic, fantastical, and terrifying, the production stands as a testament to racial tension in America. Clearly, Beloved is under the same topic and exists in an attempt to promote understanding of the struggle that African people and generations following experienced through slavery. Not only do the horrific effects of slavery resonate in Beloved, they are also present in the modern movie of Us, proving that racism continues to be a relevant topic in society even hundreds of years later. In Us, the main message that I took away was that although we are all human, minorities, specifically in America struggle more and have to do so much more to be noticed. Mostly, people may be born into poverty or an environment that is seemingly impossible to escape, and the nature of this discussion is important in understanding that the problems discussed in Beloved are incredibly relevant. This of course is verified in productions like the movie, Us.
