¿blanket?
Currently writing this on the coast of Lake Ontario in Buffalo, New York. As we drive the snow piles higher and higher, encompassing the land. I’ve never seen real snow before and it’s comforting to see the white sheet lay atop the ground. It would be almost cruel to watch the blanket of bliss reveal the dead and frozen brush.

Wow! That post was actually full of allusions to The Waste Land.
Great allusions Ritchie! Thinking about New York, I've always been infatuated with Christmas time in New York City -- mostly due to their hyped status of being a "winter wonderland". It just looks so pretty with all the snow, christmas trees, and skating rinks that you see in pictures and movies. but much like The Waste Land, we all know that underneath the snow is the dirt and grime of New York City streets. Gross!
I didn’t know you we’re in New York, cool! I really liked the way you thought about and worded that. I’ve never personally seen more snow than the “snow”/ice that comes in New Orleans every several years. My roommate for next year is from Maryland and this winter has been constantly sending me pictures of her BACKYARD just covered in more snow than I’ve ever seen before. It’s crazy how something like that can be so different for different parts of the country and the world.
