The Arts and Ideas textbook makes a reference to Pompeii as an ancient Roman city. This is a picture from my trip to Pompeii. You can see the different orders of columns in this picture (Doric in the center and Corinthian on the right).
This is a really cool picture, Chrissy. Also, I thought it was interesting to learn from Fleming that both the cities of Herculaneum and neighboring Pompeii, buried by volacanic ash, preserved artwork characteristic of the Hellenistic period. I didn't realize that Hellenistic artwork was produced in Italy, as well.
